How long does the muscle relaxing product last?

The product we use lasts between 2-4 months depending on the dosage, area treated, number of previous treatments, accurate product placement, and how your body reacts to the product.

Do the injections hurt?

We take every step to decrease any pain associated with having an injection.  The needles are the smallest available and ice is used to numb the area.  Also, you can take Paracetamol before having injections to decrease pain as long as you are not allergic to it.  Every client experiences pain differently, so we discuss this with you before the treatment.

Are there side effects?

Accepted Answer

Any side effects from treatment are temporary.  These include pain, swelling and reddness at injection site, local muscle weakness including drooping eyelids or eyebrows, tingling sensation, skin tighness, itching, headache, nausea or flu-like symptoms. These side effects can be treated with options available from the chemist.

Will I get bruises?

Bruising can happen at the entry point of a needle, at any time, with any treatment that involves an injection.  We take great care not to have this happen, but sometimes this can't be avoided.  This is the reason that alcohol is not recommended before or after treatment.  Alcohol increases the chance of bruising because it thins the blood or causes the blood vessels to dilate, easily causing a bruise at the injection site.  The bruise may take up to 7 days to disappear.  The majority of the time, bruises can be covered up with makeup and disappear after a few days.

Your pricing says "per unit".  What is a unit?"

A unit is the manufacturers measurement of muscle relaxing product.  The product comes as a powder and needs to be mixed to be injected.  One unit has a defined amount of active molecules, which work to stop your muscles contracting.  Multiple units are administered to each muscle for the desired effect.

Do you offer packages?

We believe that every client should have an individulised treatment plan.  Some clients may choose to purchase a package on offer because it seems like a good deal.  However, the client may not need the amount of units that is being administered, therefore inadvertantly paying for what they don't need.  That's the reason why we don't offer muscle relaxing treatment packages.

Why are your prices different to other clinics for the same product?

Each clinic sets their own price for the same products.  This often depends on whether you visit a plastic surgeons rooms, a dermatologist, dentist or a clinic that does a whole range of beauty therapies. There is no difference in the quality of product offered, it's just where you go for your treatment.

What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are a type of cosmetic injectable that is made with Hyaluronic acid or combinations of substances.  Dermal fillers come in different thicknesses in liquid form that are injected under the skin to fill out deeper wrinkles on top of the skin.
 
Hyaluronic acid is a product found naturally in our bodies and acts to attract water molecules. Dermal fillers work by binding to water molecules, increasing the skin volume. 
 
They are most commonly used on cheeks, lips, temples, under the eyes, jowls, and any other area with deep wrinkles

Results can vary depending on the patient, the area treated and the product used. Some can last up to 2 years.  Individual options will be discussed at your first consultation.

Any costmetic treatment can have side effects such as bruising, swelling, reddness and pain.  If you have lip fillers, you may not be able to purse your lips enough to drink through a straw or whistle for example.  We take the time to discuss any concerns at your appointment.
